Waking Mars Walkthrough
You have to find a different sentient at the power station. Note that he will be OUTSIDE of the power station and not inside the the ship with the other 3 sentients. I believe is the same area where if you stand on the pyramid tip of the crystal you can talk to Amani.IIRC that sentient was just right and down from that tip of the crystal point. You should see him just floating around on a crystal ledge, then get close and you will get a signal message. He will ask you for various things and then when you give them all the core power efficiency should be increased.
Theres a bug preventing the ending?I got all rooms on biomass 5, 34 core power and i cant find any way to progress anymore.Ive been to all rooms, been to the base, everything.I read something about there being a sentient at the power station but ive flown around for about half an hour in there and theres nothing.I have yet to see any sentient btw.I found Octo got the jetpack upgrade from octo and armani. The only 'ending' i saw was after flying around fruitlessly for hours going to the base and a picture of amani and liang embracing. Originally posted by:You have to communicate with the sentients in the Helm first. Once you've shown them that you are paying attention, they will direct you to the Power Station. There might be a bug preventing this if you're already at high enough core power to activate an endgame sequence though. I'm not sure.Whenever I communicate with the sentients at the helm, I get the same position puzzle, which, once solved, is supposed to make me go visit the right monument, right?Am I missing something or are we really look at a bug here? So you haven't opened any of the Sentient pods? You know, the ones that require water and then explosives to open?Amani and Liang hugging is not an ending, by the way:)urr. I havent encountered any kind of pod or whatever, could you please tell me where the first one is lol. This is rather embarassing because i think of myself as a player who pays attention while playing a game.I figured the hugging isnt an ending but it is the best i saw;-)EDIT: I actually found a pod now (cant believe i flew past that by one screen width), it was in missing pieces but there was only a dead sentient inside it TT. OK, I checked out weirdfish's savegame and he can still get all of the endgame content no problem. But it requires a little bit of fancy maneuvering due to some awkward scripting (sorry 'bout that).Read on if you also have high enough core power to kick off the first endgame but you haven't done the power station quest yet (which doubles your Core Power and enables the second endgame content).First, return to the Helm. This is directly underneath the Power Station, through the Gate.Open up the containers sitting on top of the Helm. Sentients will emerge and try to communicate with you through the Visualizer. When you focus the VIsualizer on the correct solution, it will direct you to one of the two platforms on the bottom (the first one is on the right). Now, if your Core Power is high enough, you can actually trigger an endgame here. You'll know this is true because Liang says to himself 'If I stand here, something will happen' before you get on the platform.
And when you get onto the platform, the platform will glow and the room will start shaking. To NOT trigger the endgame yet, step carefully onto the platform. Amani will tell you that the signal from the sentient has gone away. You want to EXIT this conversation and get off the platform before the endgame sequence starts. You can exit a conversation (it will continue running in the background) by holding down ESC (or START on your xbox controller) for 1 second. Now go back up to the sentients on top of the Helm.
They will direct you to the left platform. Out of order game. Follow their instructions.
When you get back you will get one more visualization, directing you back to the Power Station.Go to the Power Station and figure out what they want there. After the Power Station is repaired, Core Power will double and you will get 'A Light Into Space' and the second ending will become available to you (on the left platform in the Helm).
Seed Types
Type | Info | Soil(Acidic/Fertile) |
---|---|---|
Halid Seeds (green): | Grows Halid Zoa. | Fertile |
Hydron Seeds (blue): | Grows Hydron Zoa, can be used to water fertile terrain and activate Ledon Zoa. Fragile | Fertile |
Prax Seeds (yellow): | Grows Prax Zoa. Requires a mature Prax eat a Phyta or Cycot in order to create another seed. | Acidic |
Feran Seeds (red): | Grows Feran Zoa. Explosive. Generates splash damage, can destroy weakened objects, and creates fireballs when dropped into lava. Also able to destroy other Zoa, and will kill Phyta and Larians if eaten | Acidic |
Ledon Seeds(grey): | Grows an inactive Ledon Zoa. Requires a hydron seed to fully mature. Cannot be picked up, floats to the top of the cave chamber. | Fertile |
Cephad Spore (purple): | alkaline spore. Destroys plants that require acidic soil and converts soil to plain fertile terrain. If planted in already fertile terrain, grows an alkaline Cephad Zoa. Floats, tries to avoid player. | Either |
Cephad Spore (orange): | acidic spore. Destroys plants that require fertile soil and converts soil to acidic terrain. If planted in already acidic terrain, grows an acidic Cephad Zoa. Floats, tries to avoid player. | Either |

Terrain Types
While mars is a mostly red wasteland, patches of Lethe Cavern are able to support the growth of Zoa. These patches are referred to as Fertile Terrain and come in many different 4 different flavors. All terrain patches can support only one Zoa at a time.
- Fertile Terrain
- This is the standard terrain type. It is green, and supports non-acidic Zoa at their base biomass levels.
- Watered Terrain
- This is the result of watering standard terrain with a Hydron seed. Watered terrain is blue, and is required to trigger reproduction in Halid and Ledon Zoa, and grants additional biomass for Halid and Hydron Zoa.
- Enriched Terrain
- This is the best terrain. It's red, and Zoa planted in it will grow to a larger size when mature, and will also provide their maximum biomass and extra seeds for potential offspring. It can be found naturally later in the cave system, or can be created by adding compost to either fertile or watered terrain.
- Acidic Terrain
- Acidic terrain is yellow and spiky, and only supports the growth of Feran, Prax, and acidic Cephad Zoa. It cannot be watered or enriched.
- Barren Terrain
- This grey version of fertile terrain is completely inactive and does not support Zoa. It is only encountered in one or two areas of Lethe Cavern, and after Liang completes certain objectives, will revert back to fertile terrain.
Compost
Compost is a special item collected after a Larian eats either a phyta or a cycot. It can be used to enrich terrain, and Liang can carry up to 5. Enriched terrain is required for all non-acidic plants to achieve maximum biomass.
Modifying Terrain pH
Cephad spores can modify the pH of the terrain. Standard fertile terrain is neutral, while acidic terrain is, well, acidic. Mixing an acidic (orange) cephad spore with standard terrain will lower the pH, causing it to become acidic terrain. Rolly vortex game online. Any non-acidic Zoa planted in the affected terrain will die. Conversely, mixing an alkaline Cephad spore with acidic terrain will neutralize the acid, converting the terrain into standard fertile terrain (never watered or enriched). Any acidic Zoa planted in the affected area will die.
